The Internet Radio Show Guest That Never Showed Up ;o)
Well, I was supposed to be a guest on the On The HomeStretch internet radio broadcast but it never happened. It's kind of funny actually.
I was supposed to be on the 10:45 slot and was told that I would be called at about 10:40. So I am sitting there waiting, and waiting. 10:45 comes around and I am thinking, "Well, maybe they are just running behind today". So, I wait some more and then it's 10:55 and I am thinking there must be something wrong.
I thought to myself "Did I pay the phone bill?". All kinds of things went through my head including, "Did I even give them my phone number?", and "Maybe they decided they did want me on the show."
After checking my email, I realized what had happened. I did give them my phone number but some how the wrong phone number was recorded or I gave them the wrong number. So, when 10:40 rolled around they did try to call me but it was the wrong number ;o). Is that funny or what?
I have to be honest, I was really looking forward to my first radio experience being behind me. But, I guess that is not how it was supposed to happen. I do have another opportunity though, next week same time, same place. I really appreciate Debbie giving me another chance to make my radio appearance.
If you are interested in hearing the show I never showed up to -you might find it humors. They mentioned me a few times ;o) .

Gaida Rodgers - Contributing Editor and Author of Motivation and Encouragement
My name is Gaida Rodgers and many of you may know me as GaidaR or egold. I am also a mother and sole parent rearing a teenager which is very rewarding but also challenging.
It’s amazing reading through Mona’s bio as our life path has been similar in so many ways.
I also had those early horse crazed years and was raised in the country until I moved to the seaside at the age of 8 which created challenges but also opened up so many new opportunities for myself and our family.
I’ve also sold my hand crafted items…painted glass & greeting cards at craft shops, craft fairs and markets…. And been involved in Amway and Mary Kay.
One of my passions is fundraising which I have been involved with over the years and know how hard it is to raise money. One of my goals is to enable fundraisers to use the power of the internet to help them raise their much needed funds.
Over the years blogging has allowed me to share my knowledge with my readers as author of several blogs, websites and ebooks. I ‘ve also been involved with paid blogging…( I’m sure Mona introduced me to that side of blogging).
My blogs include:
Scrapbooking Magic - Allows my creative side to evolve
Online Mastery Gold - Internet Marketing Tips & Resources
Beauty Insider Secrets - Sharing beauty tips learned from my Mary Kay consultancy.
Self Growth Discovery – Words for Self Growth and Encouragement
LifeStyle Discoveries – A mixture of everyday living including recipes, savings & work from home opportunities & local news.
I've learnt Webdesign, the secrets to multiple streams of income including Affiliate Marketing, Private Label, Resale & Master Resale Rights, viral marketing & ebooks. I studied copywriting and recently completed Financial Services Cert III….And discovered many hidden talents I never knew I had which has allowed my creativity to unfold.
Little did I realise what would reveal itself along my journey into Internet Marketing. And yes... it certainly has been a 'Journey of Discovery'. I've met wonderful creative and helpful people along the way and many new friends.
One of those friends is Mona who I met online a few years ago in a local forum. Keeping in touch I was thrilled when Mona asked me to join her in this exciting new venture and believe we compliment each other with our shared knowledge and experiences.
The internet opens up so many opportunities, for each and every one of us, to work from home and I want to share the knowledge I've gained with you to help you along your own ‘Journey or Discovery’.

Trisha - Author of Blogging Basics
My name is Trisha and I've been creating web sites since 2000. I've learned a lot during that time – much of it the hard way and very slowly! I've developed skills ranging from HTML and CSS to SEO and even dabbled a bit with php and MySQL.
My main blog is at my IdeasForWomen site, I've had that site since 2003. Why did I start it? Honestly I don't even remember now. Just popped in my head at the time to start a site focused on women. I added a blog there around 2004 – and man – I did not know what I was doing! It was just terrible! I had no idea what to write! And honestly at that time I just didn't 'get' blogging. Eventually I stopped writing on it and
deleted it entirely from the site. Then, late in 2005 I started a blog there again. This time I 'got it' at least a little bit more. But even then I had periods where I didn't write in the blog for a while. I took some time off from blogging again late last year and started up again this spring. I spent that time reading other blogs and getting more familiar with the blogosphere and blog culture. This time I really 'get it'! And I plan to stick around.
I also have a Gardening blog . I got interested in butterflies and wildlife gardening a few years ago. I really enjoy it. There's nothing in the world like going outside and digging in the dirt with your bare hands! Really! And – it adds a whole new dimension to gardening. You're not doing it just for yourself – but to help other living things find food and shelter. It's good for the environment and the ecosystem too! The story of the blog on this site parallels that of the other one. I'm doing much better with it now too.
I also have a 3rd, This PaleBlue Dot a sort of meta blog where I am currently writing about my progress with the IdeasFor Women blog.
What am I passionate about? As you can tell from above – I'm very passionate about butterflies and gardening! My background is in science, I have a M.S. in Biochemistry and I am interested in just about every area of science, although I understand biology best. It shows a bit with my women's blog as I tend to write a lot about health. If I ever have the time to start another blog it will be about science. I'm also really into Disney World and Doctor Who – and I could go on for hours about any of these topics if you get me started! If I ever become engaged in a discussion about one of these with you feel free to tell me to shut up if your ears start to fall off.

Amber Stevens - Author of Interviews of Problogger Women and Marketing
My name is Amber Stevens and I’m a Californian transplanted in Georgia. I was born and raised in rural Central California. My hometown of Newman, has a sneaky resemblance to Mayberry, and has most of the residents are cows rather than people. Most people don’t picture California this way, and my husband was one of them. He was surprised by the humbleness of Newman.
In my day to day life, I wear many hats…I’m a servant to Christ, a wife and mother, a teacher, a business owner of Heavenly Hold, and a blogger! My relationship with Christ is my first priority. He is my all and sustains me through each day. I love being a wife and mother. Since I was a little girl, I knew that I would play these roles and it’s very fulfilling.
I’m extremely passionate about babywearing (the topic of my blog). Most people are unfamiliar with the term (including me, until I became a mom) and find it a strange word. Babywearing is simply carrying your baby in a sling or carrier and having your hands free. I began researching babywearing when my daughter was a few months old. I had gotten a DVT (blood clot) in my leg after delivering her and was unable to get around very easily for more than a month. Pair that trial, with a baby that constantly wanted to be held and you’ll understand why my back and neck were strained! I learned that there are a multitude of benefits to wearing your baby. Some of these benefits include having a happier, smarter and healthier baby, plus a happier mama since she has her hands free!
Babywearing and being a mom is the topic of my blog, Babywearing Buzz. I chose the topic of babywearing to help educate more moms on the topic and to open them up to the possibility of wearing their little ones. I also cover topics related to mothering such as nursing and my day to day life with children. My blog is intended to be a friendly way to communicate and meet new friends online as well as share my learning experiences. I also use it to learn new things, as I am a first time mom that certainly doesn’t know everything!
I look forward to meeting and sharing with my new readers at HerProBlog.COM. I hope you’ll be able to learn something from me, and I from you!
Cynthia Wright - Niche Blogging Author
Hola Everyone!
The name is Cynthia and I blog here: www.loveselfentirely.com
It’s my baby and I love it. I actually have been journaling since middle school back then it was on paper of course but by high school, I soon blossomed into the world of the internet. Most of my journaling was just the day to day musings of things that was happening to me, who I was dating, family strife—typical teenage/college stuff.
I’m 25 now, so right now I’m trying to focus more on my career, coming to gripes with some of the things that sit in my past. One of the biggest reasons why I decided to blog was the loss of my mother 3 years ago; she was 43 and had terminal cancer. We lost her in a span of month. I went into “survivor” mode and I spent 3 years coasting—now I’m on my way out of it and I just want to shout it out. I want to let other young women out there know (particularly women of color, since that’s what I am)it’s okay to hurt, to feel pain, to try new things and fall to pieces momentarily as long as you pick yourself back up, constructively.
I’m passionate about so many things. I am not sure how cliché it is but I’m passionate about life—my life, for once. Trying things, getting myself out of debt, not settling because that’s what I should be doing at this age. I want to learn, love and explore and I implore anyone open and willing to come along for the ride.
I will be blogging about niche blogging. Being that my blog is more personal in tone, that is my niche. I plan to start from the beginning explaining, what niche blogging is and make my way forward.
Nice to meet all of you and if you have any questions, let me know!
